U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander and Lancaster, Pa. Native Dr. Andy Baldwin to Recognize Outstanding Physical Education Program at James Buchanan Elementary School 

WHO: Dr. Andy Baldwin, former star of ABC’s The Bachelor, Navy doctor and Ironman triathlete Program founders Cyndi Freeman, School District of Lancaster; Rosemary Search, Lighten Up Lancaster Coalition; and Roy Baldwin, Executive Director of Healthy Lifestyles Foundation Jennifer Reinhart, Principal, James Buchanan Elementary School Gregory Bolibruch, Physical Education Teacher, James Buchanan Elementary School Senator Lloyd Smucker, Pennsylvania’s 13th District 

WHAT: In recognition and support of the physical education programs at James Buchanan, Hamilton and Martin Elementary schools, Dr. Baldwin will lead the children’s voluntary physical activity program and hand out Under Armour performance t-shirts to participating children. Dr. Baldwin and Gregory Bolibruch, physical education teacher at James Buchanan Elementary, will participate in a press conference to discuss making physical activities fun for kids and teaching children to lead healthy lives. 

WHERE: James Buchanan Elementary School, 340 S. West End Avenue, Lancaster, PA 717-291-6151

WHEN: Thursday, January 21, 7:30 a.m.

WHY: Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic in Pennsylvania with approximately 18% of children being overweight or obese. Children should get at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day and these three schools are doing their part to help children reach this goal. Under Armour signed on as a sponsor to help inspire and motivate the children to participate.
