Senator Smucker Joins Sunday Rally To Support Workers At Harley-Davidson Plant In Springettsbury Township 

Supports Effort To Keep Thousands Of Good Manufacturing Jobs In York County 

My wife looked at me a bit funny when I told her I was going to a biker rally.  She thought my mid-life crisis was going into politics.  But when I said the purpose of the rally is to save Harley, that she understood.  

As a former business owner, I appreciate the job skills and work ethic of workers in our area.  Building things is in our blood.  Manufacturing is our heritage.  Manufacturing must be our future too. 

Harley is a brand name people instantly recognize.  They think quality product.  They think good jobs.  They think an economic force.  They think a way of life. 

When it comes to fighting for jobs, we are not Republicans or Democrats – we are Pennsylvanians.  We can argue over state budgets and all sorts of issues in Harrisburg, but we are in complete agreement on the need to keep these jobs and this business in Springettsbury Township. 

We are not about to watch good jobs and a way of life roll down the road never to return.  We have a clear message for those making the decision.  We want these jobs here.  We want this plant here.  And we are ready to do whatever we must to win.  For you.  For your families.  For York County.  For Pennsylvania.
