May 12, 2010 - Senator Smucker toured Armstrong World Industries.
Armstrong is an international designer and manufacturer of floors, ceilings
and cabinets. Armstrong operates 40 plants in 10 countries and has
approximately 12,300 employees worldwide. Armstrong officials demonstrated
specialized ceiling tiles, flooring and wall coverings which absorb sound
and can be used to improve the sound quality in offices and school
classrooms. Pictured with Senator Smucker is David Cookson, Senior Vice
President. The tour was provided by Paul Aierstuck, Manager of Training and

May 6, 2010 - Senator Smucker toured the C&D Technologies Plant in Leola. C&D
produces systems for the power conversion and storage of electrical power. C&D
is a leader in this industry and has developed reserve power systems supplied to
leading operators of telecommunications, data transmission, infrastructure
computer systems and utilities to enable them to maintain critical operations
during power outages. The tour was provided by plant managers Dan Boyer and
Greg Reich and government program manager Jesus Alvarez. (Please click
