March 26, 2010 Senator Smucker and other legislators met with the Commanding
Officer of Troop J of the Pennsylvania State Police located in Lancaster.
Troopers from Troop J patrol Lancaster and Chester Counties. The Senator saw a
demonstration by the drug-detecting canine unit. Among those in the pictures are
Commanding Officer Captain Brenda Bernot, Lt. William White, Lt. Richard Gibble,
Lt. Allen Krawczel, Sgt. Joseph Grove, Jonathon Ewald from Senator Dinniman's

March 26, 2010 -Senator Smucker participated as a panelist at a
Job Summit arranged by the Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board, the
Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Economic Development Company of
Lancaster County, the Lancaster County Association of Human Resource Management
and the County of Lancaster. The event provided an opportunity to tap the
creativity of the business community in the area in order to identify ways that
will facilitate job creation. Business leaders were invited to share with
government leaders ideas and concerns which will hopefully shape local

March 25, 2010 -
State Senator Lloyd Smucker hosted a free energy forum to discuss how the
lifting of Pennsylvania's electric rate caps has affected the residents in
Lancaster County. The forum was held on Thursday, March 25 from 6:00 8:00 p.m.

March 25, 2010 - Senator Smucker participated in a special ceremony honoring the
late Captain Edward A. Davis, a retired US Navy pilot. Captain Davis was
installed on the "Distinguished Veterans Wall of Honor" at the Lancaster AMVETS
Post #19. Ms. Karen Davis, wife of Captain Davis, accepted the award on behalf
of her husband who passed away 3 years ago.

Lancaster Catholic football team! On December 19, the team won its 13th game in
a row, defeating Greensburg Central Catholic 21-14 for the school's first state
championship title. |

March 11, 2010 - Senator Smucker took a tour and met with students in the
School-To-work (STW) Program. Mr. Steve Pizzo, a teacher of the STW
program, discussed the program with the senator and introduced the students. The
School-To-Work program provides community-based training in real work settings.
The program, which is available for high school students with disabilities, is
designed to help students learn self-determination and functional academics, and
