September 3, 2009 - Senator Smucker took a tour of Brubaker Farms in East Donegal Township. The tour was provided by Mr. Luke Brubaker, the owner of the operation. Also in attendance was Peggy Fogarty-Harnish, the Agricultural Economic Development Educator from the Penn State Cooperative Extension, and students from France who wanted to learn more about the operation. Brubaker Farms is a large dairy operation that maintains a manure digester which turns cow waste into energy.
