May 27, 2009 - Senator Smucker and Senator Waugh hosted a breakfast with Senator Jake Corman, Chairman of the Senate Appropriations committee, to discuss Senate Bill 850 (the Senate's version of the state budget). The breakfast was held at Heritage Hills in York. The event was attended by various state, county, local and school officials and business professionals throughout York County. Senator Corman gave a presentation supporting the Senate's approach to the budget during this unprecedented time in our state's history. The Senators each noted that the prudent course of action at this time is to match spending to anticipated revenues lest the state and its citizens face greater financial peril in the following fiscal years.
