Solanco School District officials, teachers and students hosted a visit and tour with Senator Smucker. The Senator was able to see and hear firsthand the extraordinary work of everyone in the district. Dr. Hudacs, Superintendent, guided the tour which included stops at Solanco High School, Swift Middle School, Clermont and Bart-Colerain Elementary Schools. Highlights of the visit included a presentation on the districts anti-bullying program "PRIDE" which is a student led program to empower them to thwart bullying; the Virtual Academy that provides a unique on-line learning experience; Kid Connect activities where Clermont first-graders and their teachers meet and present to local pre-school students and their teachers to improve transition for students into kindergarten and finally a tour of the district's National NCLB blue ribbon school, Bart-Colerain Elementary, and its geothermal energy system.
